Months after a teaser was released following the "Survivor" Season 46 finale, the cast for "Survivor" Season 47 has finally been announced.
Season 47 of the long-running reality competition show on CBS will feature 18 new castaways stranded on an island in Fiji, competing against each other in group and individual challenges as they vie for the title of "sole survivor" and the $1 million prize that comes with it.
Contestants this season come from a variety of backgrounds, from a flight attendant to an E-Sports commentator and everything in between as they must learn to build community, make alliances and strategize all while attempting to vote each other out.
Viewers may recognize one notable person on the cast this season: Jon Lovett, a podcaster and co-founder of Crooked Media who was also a former speechwriter for former President Barack Obama.
The season premiere, which airs Wednesday, Sept. 18, will be a two-hour episode, with subsequent episodes running for 90 minutes. Hosted by Jeff Probst, "Survivor" has been on the air since 2000.
